Jim D’Amore Sr. (JDM/Saleen SpeedLab Racing) leads Fun Ford Weekend with a Ford Mustang equipped with a Saleen Series VI Integrated Twin-Screw Supercharger and aerodynamics kit in the RPM Outlet Ultra-Stang class. D’Amore Sr. most recently took the podium at Virginia Motorsports Park, June 22-24, 2007, defeating a Stage 3 Roush with a time of 10.358 seconds at 129.24 MPH in the quarter mile.
D’Amore Sr. is also competing in the JDM Tough Truck class in a 2007 Saleen S331 Supercharged Sport Truck where he currently holds second place. In its first year of production, the Saleen S331 Supercharged Sport Truck has already proven its pedigree in racing performance and is expected to win several more races and potentially its class this season. With a best time of 13.21 seconds at 104 MPH, D’Amore Sr. and Saleen are looking for the win at this week’s 17th Annual Buckeye State FFW Nationals held in Norwalk, OH.
Saleen Street-Stang Class
In the first year of the Saleen-sponsored Saleen Street-Stang Class, JDM racing has proven its abilities in drag racing. D’Amore Jr. is currently in third place overall in the class, competing in a 2005 Saleen S281 Supercharged and took first place at the 3rd Annual Cajun Fun Ford Weekend Nationals, May 25-27, 2007, earning a time of 12.526 seconds at 105.13 MPH.
